From the panoramic position near the small town square and the Roman church, some 300 metres above sea level, the snow-capped mountains provides a stunning backdrop to an endless number of vineyards and what was once an important area for the cultivation of olives even though the olives have largely been replaced with numerous apple orchards.  A group of local growers have even formed a consortium to promote this local produce.
